What the data shows for salons
The sample is small, so read the share as a range. With 54 sites, a plausible range for the true share (a 95% Wilson interval) is 12% to 33%.
Separately, counting every listing in this trade rather than only tested websites: 29 of 125 Google listings (23%) show no website at all. That figure uses a different denominator (all listings) and is not part of the share above.
What customers expect from hair salons
Salon clients are used to booking a stylist and a service at a specific time, often outside opening hours. Salons were among the more bookable businesses in this study, so a salon without a booking path stands out.
What a fix looks like
If the salon already uses a salon booking app, the fix is usually not a new tool but a visible Book button on the homepage that goes straight to the booking page.
- Put the booking or request link on the homepage, near the top, labeled with a verb ("Book a visit", "Request an estimate").
- Keep a tap-to-call link next to it for customers who would rather phone.
- Add the same link to your Google Business Profile so people can book from Maps and Search. See how to add a booking link to Google Business Profile.
- After you change the site, run the free Book Check again to confirm a booking path is detected.
