Where do customers find you online today?
A Wix website
Link a Button to a hosted booking page, or add a booking script under Custom Code.
Wix serves the Embed HTML element from its own file host, so some booking tools reject it. A linked Button or site-wide Custom Code avoids that.

Paste the booking widget into a Custom HTML block, or link a button to a hosted booking page.
Either route leaves the rest of your site untouched.

Add a Code block with the booking widget, or link a button to a hosted booking page.
A Code block is the usual route; the guide covers its limits.

Run the free Book Check. It reads your homepage and reports whether a customer can find a booking path.
It also reports the website builder it detects, which tells you which route above applies.

Put a booking link on the profile. Customers on Maps and Search can book without visiting a site.
Google lets a profile carry several links per category.

Use a hosted booking page and place its link in your bio and in the page's website field.
You do not need a website for this. The link is the booking path.

Start with a hosted booking page, then claim a Google Business Profile and add the link there.
A hosted page needs no website, and the profile link puts it where customers already look.

Link, widget or new site: how to choose
There are three ways to add a booking path, and the right one depends on what you can edit.
- A link to a hosted booking page. The quickest route and the only one that works with no website. The tool runs the page; you link to it from your homepage, your Google profile and your social bios. Google says a profile can carry up to 10 links per category, so the booking link can sit beside your other links.
- A booking widget on your site. The customer books without leaving your page. It needs a place to paste code, which every major builder offers with different limits. The install guides above cover each one.
- A new booking website. Worth it when your current site cannot be edited or is not worth keeping. It is the slowest of the three and the only one that forces a decision about your whole web presence.
Most businesses that already have a site should start with the first or second. The gap is common: in HelpWin's Toledo sample, 52% of the 1,663 established websites that loaded showed no booking path. See the full study.
What every route needs to work
A booking path only counts if a customer can find it. Whichever route you take, check four things.
- It is visible near the top of the homepage, not buried in a footer or a menu.
- The label is a verb, such as "Book a visit" or "Request an estimate".
- A tap-to-call link sits beside it, for customers who would rather phone.
- It is a plain link or button in the page itself. A button that only appears after scripts run can be missed by a crawler or an assistant.
Check your result
When you have added a booking path, run the free Book Check on your homepage. It reads the page the way a customer's phone and a search crawler do, and tells you in plain words whether a booking path is detected. If it is not, the usual causes are a button placed below the first screen, a widget that loads only after scripts run, or a link that points at a page that has not been published.
Questions
Do I need a new website to take online bookings?
No. A booking widget or a link to a hosted booking page can be added to the site you already have, and a business with no site can use a hosted booking page linked from its Google Business Profile or social page.
What is the fastest route if I only have a Facebook or Instagram page?
Create a hosted booking page and put its link in your bio and in the page's website field. The link is the booking path, so you do not need a website first.
How do I know whether my booking path actually works?
Run the free Book Check on your homepage after you add it. It reports whether a customer can find a booking path, and you can run it again after any change.
